The University of Tsukuba, Institute of Library, Information and Media Science is looking for a specially appointed assistant professor who joins the Knowledge Acquisition Systems Laboratory (KASYS, PI Associate Professor Makoto Kato) to conduct education and research on data engineering and natural language processing, such as information retrieval, web mining, and machine learning.

 

[Work content and job description]

* You will be engaged in research in the field of data engineering and natural language processing related to information retrieval, web mining, and machine learning in a broad sense. We welcome a wide range of researchers working in this field. Our organization highly evaluates interdisciplinary research and welcomes applicants who are interested in collaborative research with other fields.

 

* The successful candidate is expected to teach graduate courses at the Master's Program in Informatics of the Graduate School of Comprehensive Human Sciences, such as "Information Organization," related research seminar courses, etc., and to supervise graduate students.

* The candidate is expected to teach undergraduate courses at the College of Knowledge and Library Sciences, School of Informatics, such as "Basics of Design and Development of Bussiness System I/II," "Practice of Design and Development of Bussiness System I/II," "Knowledge Information Resources Lab III," related research seminar courses, etc., and to supervise undergraduate students.

* Applicants are required to teach classes in both Japanese and English.

 

* Administrative duties include committees, publicity, admission, etc.
