Salary: £40927 to £50296 per annum (pro-rata if applicable) depending on skills and experience. Salary progression beyond this scale is subject to performance.
The University of Nottingham seeks applications for a full-time Assistant Professor in System Failure Modelling. This role is offered as research & teaching where the person appointed would lead relevant research programs complementing and expanding existing capability.
Applications are welcome from individuals with teaching/research experience in any related areas of mechanical, manufacturing or aerospace engineering. Applications are particularly welcome from individuals with academic research and teaching or industrial experience within the railway, nuclear or aerospace sectors in the area of modelling for resilience engineering, risk and reliability engineering or asset management and maintenance engineering.
The role holder will take responsibility for delivering high quality teaching and will contribute to the planning, design, development and delivery of materials on our growing undergraduate taught programmes in mechanical, manufacturing and aerospace engineering. Specifically, the successful candidate will be expected to lead teaching in the area of reliability of engineering systems. The role will include the development of course curricula and teaching materials as required.
The post holder may also make a significant contribution to their academic unit via leadership and/or administrative management and/or co-ordination of specific initiatives.
This role is available on a permanent basis. Hours of work are full time (36.25 hours). Job share arrangements may be considered.
