Faculty Position of Full Assistant Professorship in Mechanical Engineering

Department of Mechanical Engineering

School of Engineering, Tokyo Institute of Technology

Position title:

  • Assistant Professor (two persons, one person each for A field and B field described below).

Affiliation:

  • Advanced Functional Materials Field, Materials and Processing Group, Department of Mechanical Engineering, School of Engineering.
  • Advanced Production Engineering Field, Materials and Processing Group, Department of Mechanical Engineering, School of Engineering.

Area of specialization:

  • Materials in mechanical engineering, especially on advanced research areas concerning to preparation, analysis and application of engineering materials.
  • Production engineering, especially on advanced research areas concerning to production engineering, manufacturing technology, etc.

Teaching and Research in charge:

  • Research guidance and education for graduate and undergraduate students in the laboratory, laboratory management in cooperation with faculty members at each above-mentioned field.

Duration and Terms:

  • 5 year contract, renewable once for additional at most 5 years.

Salary:

  • Annual salary will be paid according to the National University Corporation Tokyo Institute of Technology Regulations on Wage and Salary for Staff on the Annual Salary System.

Qualification requirements:

  • Applicants are required to have or will have a doctoral degree or Ph.D. prior to the appointment date.

  • List of research achievements classified into journal papers, proceedings of international conference, books, review articles, patents.
  • Copies of representative research publications within three significant journal papers.
  • List of research grants with budget amount, classified into those granted as a principal investigator or a cooperative investigator.
  • Summary of past research activities within two pages A4 size paper with arbitrary format.
  • Prospective teaching plan and research plan within two pages A4 size paper with arbitrary format.
