Subject: Mathematical statistics

Subject Description

Mathematical statistics with applications in mainly technology and natural sciences.

Duties

The tasks mainly consist of teaching mathematical statistics. The teaching will include course responsibilities at both the master's and master's level, as well as supervision of master's and master's theses. We provide the opportunity to conduct our own research as part of the service.

Course responsibility includes planning and conducting teaching, conducting examinations, having responsibility for information and communication in connection therewith, and being responsible for the exercises of the exercise managers.

You must be able to teach in English. It is a merit if you can also teach in Swedish.

Competence

Eligibility for employment as a teacher is specified in Chapter 4, Section 3 - 4 of the Higher Education Ordinance and the University of Gothenburg's own employment scheme.

Applicants must have a doctorate in mathematical statistics, or equivalent scientific competence with regard to the subject content of the employment and the duties included in the employment, and that you can teach in English.

Basis of assessment

Assessment bases for hiring as a teacher are set out in Chapter 4, sections 3 - 4 of the Higher Education Ordinance and the University of Gothenburg's own employment scheme.

For employment, the applicant must be selected, who, after an overall assessment of skill and development potential, is judged to have the best conditions for carrying out the duties included in the employment, cooperating with other staff and contributing to a positive development of the business. Also important is the ability to communicate well in speech and writing, to collaborate, to inspire and to engage students and to take on their own responsibility for tasks.

Leave due to illness, service in the total defense, trust assignments within trade unions and student organizations or parental leave or other similar circumstances are taken into account in the credit evaluation and are stated with certificates in connection with the account of the qualifications and experiences.
