Teaching-track Faculty Position for Electronic and Computer Engineering

The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) invites applications for a teaching-track (i.e., non-tenure) position for electronic and computer engineering in the Department of Electronic and Computer Engineering. The successful applicant is expected to play an important role in teaching and in developing undergraduate and postgraduate courses in signal processing, communications and networking, and in playing an active role in student advising, curriculum development, and in student project supervision. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in electronic engineering, computer engineering, or in a related area with expertise and teaching experience in signal processing, communications and networking. A good teaching record will be advantageous. (Duration: 2 years, renewable)

The Department has about 50 faculty members, 600 undergraduate students and over 300 postgraduate students. It provides an excellent environment for multidisciplinary research and teaching, with close links to other departments within the School of Engineering and to other Schools through joint appointments and active involvements in cross-cutting Institutes and Centers in Quantum Technology, Robotics, Artificial Intelligence, Big Data, and Energy.

Initial appointment is for 2 years and may be renewable. Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits including annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided where applicable. Housing benefits will also be provided where applicable. A gratuity will be payable upon successful completion of a 2-year contract.
