W3-Professorship for Scientific Computing

At the Interdisciplinary Center for Scientific Computing (IWR) of the University of Heidelberg, the Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics has one of the following

W3-Professorship for Scientific Computing

to occupy. We are looking for an internationally designated representative (m / w / d) in a current field of research in model-based optimization with a strong focus on applications. The field of work should supplement the existing expertise in a complementary and cooperative manner. The professorship is to be filled with a distinguished scientist as a professorship in professorships, and can also be awarded as an introductory professorship if there is special qualification.

Applicants should be excellently qualified in research and teaching. Active participation in the Heidelberg Graduate School of Mathematical and Computing Methods for the Sciences (HGS MathComp) is expected. One of the tasks in teaching is the basic education at the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science.

Prerequisite for the application is a completed university studies, and gem. § 47 Abs. 2 Landeshochschulgesetz the Habilitation, the successfully evaluated Juniorprofessur or a comparable qualification.
