Junior Professorship (W1) for Practical Computer Science

We are looking for a (internationally) highly qualified junior scientist who further strengthens and widens the area of ​​Algorithmic Discrete Geometry at the institute in a foundation-oriented and practice-oriented manner and has a connection to the working groups existing at the institute. The candidate should already have carried out substantial methodological work with which he / she can contribute to current and planned research networks. Participation in teaching, examinations, theses and academic self-government is also required. For this reason, it is desirable to have relevant experience with independent teaching.

The candidate should contribute to the broad coverage of the informatics-related courses in the bachelor / master programs of the department, especially in the field of election events and project seminars.

Prerequisites for admission are a university degree, pedagogical aptitude and the special aptitude for scientific work, which was proven in the context of a doctorate, which should have been no more than five years ago, and a subsequent further qualification (postdoc).

We are looking for an outstanding, internationally distinguished junior researcher who can strengthen and broaden the fundamental and practical research and teaching activities in the area of ​​discrete algorithmic geometry and integrate into the existing working groups in our department. The candidate should have completed substantial methodical research which can be used for the benefit of current and planned joint research projects. The candidate is expected to teach courses, administer examinations and supervise final papers, as well as participate in self-administration. Consequently, relevant experience in independent teaching is desired.

The prospective appointee should contribute to the broad scope of computer science-related courses offered in the bachelor's and master's degree programs in the faculty, especially elective courses and project seminars.

A doctoral program completed no more than five years ago, and subsequent advanced achievement (as a postdoctoral researcher).
