The Specialization in Electrical and Computer Engineering, Applied Physics, and Information Systems within the Department of Mathematics, Physics, Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at the Graduate School of Engineering Science, Yokohama National University (YNU) is now inviting applications for a professor or an associate professor as a tenure-track faculty position in the field of electrical and computer engineering. The following is an overview of the position, required qualifications and application procedure.

  • Job description: Candidate's area of ​​research must be in the following area in electrical and computer engineering:

Energy systems analysis for mitigation of global warming, Optimal power generation planning, Optimization of large-scale systems, Stochastic dynamic programming, Energy economics, Decision analysis under uncertainty, Smart grid, Power systems, Power grid, Grid interconnection, Power conversion systems, Renewable energy, Vehicle-to-grid.

We expect applications of excellent researchers who have an ability to actively research in the front line in the world. The post-holder will have responsibility for teaching (lectures, laboratory experiments, practice, graduate study) in Specialization in Electrical and Computer Engineering, Applied Physics, and Information Systems in both graduate and undergraduate courses. Alongside educational and research activities, a tenure-track associate professor is also expected to take a role in administrative duties.

Qualifications:

Candidates must have a doctoral degree. Candidates whose mother tongue is not Japanese should have a working knowledge of Japanese in order to carry out education and research activities.
