Job Description

KTH is one of Europe's leading technical universities and an important arena for knowledge development. As Sweden's largest university for technical research and education, we bring together students, researchers and faculty from all over the world. Our research and education encompasses both natural sciences and all branches of technology as well as architecture, industrial economics, social planning, history and philosophy

Duties

The Department of Robotics, Perception and Learning (RPL) at KTH (https://www.kth.se/rpl) is looking for students interested in gaining practical research experience in several areas of Robotics, Control, Computer Vision, and Machine Learning.

The service is not focused on a specific area or project, instead we are looking for you who show high potential to contribute to one or more RPL research groups.

Applicants will be evaluated continuously, and the service will be tailored to each candidate's interests, and time of year (eg 3 months full-time during the summer, or longer part-time during the school year).

More information can be found here: https://www.kth.se/rpl/fellowships

What we offer:

In addition to a supervisor, each selected candidate will be paired with a relevant researcher (eg doctoral student or postdoc) who will serve as the candidate's research colleague and mentor.

  • An international workplace.
  • A leading technical university that creates knowledge and skills for a sustainable future.
  • Opportunity to interact with a research team with high diversity and high ambitions, in an open, curious, and dynamic environment.
  • Participation in the department's group activities.

Qualifications

The applicant must be enrolled in a program at the master's or master's level in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Robotics, Computer Vision, Machine Learning, or the like.

  • Experience in projects (eg at the course level) in robotics, control, computer vision, machine learning, or similar is a merit.
  • Excellent knowledge of software development and integration, preferably in Python and C ++ / C #.
  • Good mathematical background.
  • Habit and knowledge of computer vision, motion capture, robot-related algorithms and methodologies, logic, formal methods, or machine learning and tools.
  • Excellent communication ability in speech and writing.

You who apply can work in a group context, as well as independently and have a good structure in your daily work.

We will attach great importance to personal qualities.

Trade union representatives

You will find contact information for union representatives on KTH's website.

The application must contain:

  • CV including relevant professional experience and knowledge.
  • Copy of any diploma and grades from your previous university studies. Translation into English or Swedish if the original documents were published in another language.
  • A brief account (max one page) of which RPL research area (https://www.kth.se/rpl) you are interested in, and how this service can contribute to your academic career.

You apply through KTH's recruitment system. As an applicant, you have the primary responsibility for your application being complete when it is submitted. Your complete application must be submitted to KTH no later than the last day of the application period.

Temporary employment for up to 6 months, with access as agreed.
